Quinton Blair
About

Quinton Blair is the genuine article when it comes to honky tonk music. Blair was born and raised in Southern Manitoba, and has been touting his guitar back and forth across the Prairies for the last half decade. Writing and performing self described “real” country music, Blair is quickly developing a reputation as a stand out song writer and captivating performer. Blurring the lines between roots country, outlaw country and throw back country Blair cuts a wide swath when it comes to country music knowledge and understanding. Inspired by the words of Austin, Tx singer/songwriter Hayes Carll “I bet your tired of dancing to the same old song,” Q and his band are not afraid to play great tunes that are off the beaten track; and you can bet at every show there is a little bit of country music education going on, all the while bringing high energy and great guitar licks to centre stage around great writing and arranging of music. The double lead guitars that brand this sound are played by renowned pickers Keith Haddad (Double Eagle Band) and Adam Young, both of whom jump all in to the bands penchant for jamming new and old tunes at live shows.

In a genre of music that is continually being dilutted by the flash in the pan success of fly by night “artists,” Q has established his sound and his following the old fashioned way…one honky tonk at a time, and one great song at a time. Whether it is bikers, wanksters or even dime store cowboys Q cuts through the expected washed out feel of Nash-pop country cover bands and connects with his audience through real music.

Wrangling horses is in his blood, and has been a part of the Blair family for generations. From horses to train songs to hurtin’ songs Quinton Blair is sure to infuse your inner red neck, so belly up to the bar, buy a round and listen to some of the best honky tonk music north of Texas.
